When he descended (from the pulpit), we said: O Abu Al-Yaqzan! You have been eloquent and concise. If only you had elaborated a bit more!&#8221; He replied: &#8220;I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: The length of a man\u2019s prayer and the brevity of his sermon is a sign of his understanding. So, lengthen the prayer and shorten the sermon. I said: Perhaps he confused it with Al-Daraqutni\u2019s words in &#8220;Al-\u2018Ilal&#8221; when he commented on the hadith being mawqoof on Abdullah ibn Mas\u2019ood. We shall return to this point.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Verification of the hadith:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mshmsdin.com\/en\/archives\/5605\/%d9%84%d9%82%d8%b7%d8%a9-%d8%b4%d8%a7%d8%b4%d8%a9-2024-09-17-181004\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5606\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-5606\" src=\"https:\/\/mshmsdin.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/\u0644\u0642\u0637\u0629-\u0634\u0627\u0634\u0629-2024-09-17-181004-1024x588.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"812\" height=\"466\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mshmsdin.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/\u0644\u0642\u0637\u0629-\u0634\u0627\u0634\u0629-2024-09-17-181004-1024x588.png 1024w, https:\/\/mshmsdin.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/\u0644\u0642\u0637\u0629-\u0634\u0627\u0634\u0629-2024-09-17-181004-300x172.png 300w, https:\/\/mshmsdin.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/\u0644\u0642\u0637\u0629-\u0634\u0627\u0634\u0629-2024-09-17-181004-768x441.png 768w, https:\/\/mshmsdin.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/\u0644\u0642\u0637\u0629-\u0634\u0627\u0634\u0629-2024-09-17-181004-1320x759.png 1320w, https:\/\/mshmsdin.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/\u0644\u0642\u0637\u0629-\u0634\u0627\u0634\u0629-2024-09-17-181004.png 1439w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 812px) 100vw, 812px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After the verification, it becomes clear that it is narrated from Shaqiq by two companions: from \u2018Ammar as marfoo&#8217; (attributed to the Prophet) and from Ibn Mas\u2019ood as mawqoof (stopped at the companion).<\/p>\n<p>As for the narration from Ibn Mas\u2019ood, it was narrated by Al-A\u2019mash from Abu Wa\u2019il, and three trustworthy narrators transmitted it, making it authentic.<\/p>\n<p>As for the hadith of \u2018Ammar, it was narrated by Wasil from Abu Wa\u2019il, then by Ibn Abjar from his father, which is a sound chain of transmission. We also found corroborating evidence in the form of the story mentioning \u2018Ammar by both his title and name. We did not find anything similar elsewhere to suggest that this was a mistake or confusion by the narrator.
